Easy Italian Meatballs in Basil Cinnamon Flavored Tomato Sauce Authentic Recipe for Home

Paprika spiced Italian meatballs in basil and cinnamon flavored tomato sauce: 
For the tomato sauce

  1. 2 tbsp   olive oil
  2. 1  onion, finely chopped, 
  3. 4 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  4. 1 teaspoon paprika powder
  5. 400g chopped tomatoes
  6. 1 teaspoon sea salt or to taste
  7. 10 no: basil leafs
  8. 20 gm unsaltedbutter


For the meatballs

  1. 300g mince beef
  2. 100g diced pancetta oe smoked bacon
  3. 20 g fresh bread into broken small pieces
  4. 2 tbsp parmesan cheese, grated
  5. 5 basil leaf chopped
  6. onion,very finely diced
  7. 2 cloves garlic finely chopped
  8. salt to taste

Make meat balls,

Place all minced meat,diced bacon, breadcrumbs, garlic,finely chopped onion,chopped basil and salt  into a large bowl and mix thoroughly with your hands. 

Using clean hands divide the meat mixture into small pieces and roll into balls. ideally to a 30 gm equal size balls
When all the meatballs are ready, heat a medium-sized thick bottom sauce pan and add the olive oil. Fry the meatballs, turning occasionally by holding pan sides, until golden brown. add butter slice to give a caramel flavor through mallard reaction.remove meat balls from pan keep on side 
Tomato sauce

To make the tomato sauce use the same sauce pan you used for browning meat balls, add chopped garlic lightly brown, add the chopped onion and slowly sweat without coloring. After a few seconds add paprika powder and seasoning and cook for another five minutes. add the chopped tomatoes and bring to the boil. Reduce the heat and simmer gently.

Place meatballs to  tomato sauce and cook for roughly 15 to 20 minutes in slow fire or cook in a pre heated oven for 20 mins at 160c .Make sure the meat balls are cooked thoroughly yet juicy inside. this will be the result of bread content in meat balls , they absorb the sauce to keep moist. serve with linguine,fettucini or spaghetti with freshly shaved Parmesan, and some chopped basil.
